Willis (Jay) J. Magee,
LTC, US Army, (Ret)
LTC (Ret) Jay Magee is a Christian Patriot with a passion demonstrated by his efforts as the Band of Brothers Outpost leader with Point Man International Ministries (Point Man) and as a member of MSG William J. Crawford VFW Post 7829. He contributes his support to community veteran activities fulfilling what he calls “giving back” to his community.
Point Man International Ministries is a peer-led Veteran Support Ministry of Veterans Helping Veterans, offering local support and accountability groups to assist Veterans in their transition home after war. Point Man is equipped to help Veterans dealing with post-deployment issues common to combat soldiers experiencing the trauma and injuries of war: depression, suicidal tendencies, high-risk behavior, isolation, self-medication, broken relationships, and serious sleep disorders. These are common to soldiers who have experienced traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress. Comfort, support and encouragement are offered by fellow service members willing to walk alongside their brother soldiers, knowing that no one understands what a young returning combat veteran has been through better than another combat veteran.
Point Man has leaders prepared to support both male and female Veterans.
Jay’s ministry has put him in the position of personal and direct intervention and successful prevention of several veteran suicide attempts, both Active Duty and retired Veterans. There are also countless indirect interventions in the lives of potentially at-risk soldiers, veterans, and family members in the Southern Colorado Region while humbly serving and remaining open to the leading of the Spirit of God in fulfillment of Point Man Ministries of Colorado Springs. He measures success while volunteering
in the community in a very simple manner – one life at a time.
